Rajouri: A Government teacher has been arrested by police in Rajouri over charges of sexual abuse and harassment by female students at school.
Official sources told news agency Kashmir Scroll that a written complaint was received by police from Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Rajouri.
Accused Ashraf Qureshi is a Government teacher presently serving in Government Higher Secondary School Saaj in Thanamandi sub division of Rajouri district.
Police registered a case in FIR 129/2023 U/Ss 8/22 POCSO Act in Thanamandi police station after several girl students of said school lodged their complaint alleging sexual abuse and harassment by the teacher.
In legal proceedings, police team of Thanamandi police station has arrested the teacher.
Meanwhile further proceedings have been taken up.(KS)
