GA Mir, AICC General Secretary in charge of Jharkhand and West Bengal, recently achieved a significant victory in the Dooru constituency. Expressing gratitude to the constituents, he visited every area, thanking them for their support in the election.
Mir emphasized that the alliance’s primary goal was to remove the BJP from power in the region. He highlighted how the BJP attempted to manipulate the election through delimitation of seats to divide voter support. Despite these efforts, the people stood firm, leading to a decisive win for the India Alliance.
In his address, Mir noted that their first priority after forming the government will be to push for the restoration of statehood in Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed that until statehood is fully restored, the demands of the people will not be completely full filled . He pointed out that, for the first time in Indian history, a state was converted into a union territory, stripping away local governance.
Mir criticized the BJP for its campaign promises, recalling their claim that only they could restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, as they had taken it away. He assured supporters that the India Alliance is now strong and united, committed to fighting for the return of statehood.
In an impressive electoral performance, Mir revealed that in Dooru, the India Alliance secured more votes in 151 out of 152 polling booths. Only one booth showed a slight lead for the opposing party by just 10 votes. This achievement is remarkable, as it demonstrates widespread support across the constituency, a feat rarely seen in democratic elections.
Mir’s victory and the record-setting performance in polling booths underscore the people’s desire for change and their confidence in the India Alliance. The party aims to fulfill its promises and restore the dignity and rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
As the new government takes shape, Mir and his team are poised to advocate for the aspirations of the people and work towards a brighter future for the region.
