Ganderbal : A special drive against wrong parking was conducted in Kangan under the supervision of DySP Traffic Ganderbal, Gulzar Ahmad, accompanied by SHO Kangan, Manzoor Ahmad. The initiative aimed to address the growing menace of wrong parking, which has been causing significant disruptions in the area.
DySP Gulzar Ahmad, while talking to Valley Online, Said that “Today’s drive is focused on resolving the persistent issue of wrong parking that has been inconveniencing the public. We urge everyone to follow traffic rules and cooperate to ensure smooth traffic movement.”
The operation saw several violators penalized, and the officials assured continued efforts to maintain road discipline and minimize traffic violations.
Chattergul Residents Raise Transport Concerns
During the drive, residents of Chattergul voiced their grievances regarding the lack of Somu services in their area. They explained that traveling to and from Kangan often becomes a struggle due to the unavailability of transport.
A local resident shared, “We sometimes have to walk long distances to reach Kangan because no vehicles are available in our area. Returning home is even more difficult, as no transport operates towards Chattergul.”
Another resident recounted a recent incident, saying, “A few days ago, when my wife fell ill, we couldn’t find any vehicle to take her to Kangan. We had to rely on an auto, which barely managed to get us there.”
When Valley Online asked DySP Traffic Gulzar Ahmad about the issue, he assured action, saying, “We will discuss this issue with ARTO Ganderbal and work on providing services to Chattergul residents to ease their transportation difficulties.”
The traffic police’s efforts to regulate parking violations have also highlighted the pressing need for better transport facilities in the region, with officials promising to address these challenges promptly.
