CU Kashmir Celebrates 76th Republic Day with Enthusiasm

Ganderbal, Jan 26: The Central University of Kashmir celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great zeal at its Tulmulla Campus. Vice Chancellor Prof. A. Ravinder Nath unfurled the Tricolor and took the salute from the marching contingent of security guards, embodying the spirit of national pride and unity.

The event was attended by Deans of Schools, Heads and Coordinators of Departments, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Finance Officer, faculty members, senior administrative officials, research scholars, and students. For those unable to attend due to ongoing winter vacations, the celebration was live-streamed, ensuring widespread participation across the university community.

In his address, Prof. Ravinder Nath extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the faculty, staff, students, alumni, and stakeholders of the university. He reflected on the profound significance of Republic Day, stating, “This day commemorates the historic moment when the Constitution of India came into effect, transforming our nation into a sovereign, socialist, secular, and democratic republic. It is a day to celebrate our pride, reflect on our journey, and renew our commitment to the values enshrined in our Constitution.”

Prof. Nath emphasized the Constitution’s role as the cornerstone of democracy, highlighting the responsibility of citizens and institutions in nation-building. He remarked, “The principles of justice, equality, liberty, and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution must guide us as individuals and as an academic institution committed to the pursuit of knowledge and societal progress.”

He underscored the pivotal role of education in shaping a vibrant democracy, affirming that “the Central University of Kashmir is dedicated to nurturing the future of the nation.”
