Ganderbal : In a proactive step towards ensuring comprehensive Aadhaar coverage, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Ganderbal, Shyambir, convened a crucial meeting of the District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee today.
The primary agenda focused on assessing the current status of Aadhaar enrollment and the integration of Aadhaar data for beneficiaries across the district. The meeting revealed that out of 55 designated Aadhaar centers, only 24 are fully operational at present.
To address this shortfall, the DC mandated all relevant departments to activate their designated Aadhaar centers promptly. He emphasized the importance of mobilizing enrollment personnel effectively to achieve the ambitious goal of 100% Aadhaar coverage.
Key topics of discussion included strategies for updating documents linked to Aadhaar, the promotion of the mAadhaar app, and the necessity of mandatory biometric updates. The DC highlighted the importance of state portal verification in maintaining data accuracy.
In a bid to enhance enrollment rates, stakeholders were encouraged to actively reach out to parents, urging them to register their children under five years old for Aadhaar. Additionally, the need for timely biometric updates at age milestones of 5 and 15 years was stressed.
The Programme Officer of Poshan Abhiyan and the Chief Education Officer were assigned the responsibility of compiling a comprehensive list of pending enrollments and creating an actionable plan to address any existing gaps.
The DC also encouraged Aadhaar holders to take the initiative to update their personal information, including identity and address proof, by visiting the nearest enrollment centers.
To accelerate the enrollment process, all departments were tasked with launching a mission-oriented campaign aimed at achieving complete Aadhaar coverage within the district. The health department received specific instructions to prioritize Aadhaar-linked birth registrations, ensuring that newborns are enrolled from day one.
The Project Manager from UIDAI presented the advantages of the mAadhaar app, which facilitates various Aadhaar-related services online. He underscored that Aadhaar has revolutionized the delivery of government services, enhancing transparency, accountability, and significant savings for the residents.
In conclusion, the DC reiterated the pivotal role of Aadhaar in optimizing public welfare schemes and called for seamless collaboration among all departments to realize the goal of Aadhaar saturation in Ganderbal. The meeting saw participation from various key officials, including the Programme Officer of Poshan Abhiyaan, District Statistics and Evaluation Officer, Chief Planning Officer, Chief Education Officer, and representatives from the District Hospital.
