In a pivotal meeting today, representatives from the OMSA, Mir Mujeeb and Sahil Parray, spearheaded a delegation of youth from the General Category to engage with the Honorable Minister and Chairman of the Subcommittee, sakinaitoo.

The discussions took place in a constructive environment, highlighting the pressing concerns of the General Category population in Jammu and Kashmir.

During the meeting, the delegates presented a well-researched draft that drew on constitutional principles, national and state precedents, along with official data. This document aimed to address the issues faced by the community and set the stage for meaningful dialogue.

Emphasizing the urgency of the situation, the OMSA representatives urged the Minister to implement previously agreed-upon actionable items swiftly, prior to any new recruitment processes. They articulated the need for a balanced approach to the reservation policy to ensure fair representation for all groups.

A significant point of discussion was the constitutionally mandated threshold of 76.5% for the Other Merit category in J&K, which the delegation firmly underscored as a critical benchmark.

The Honorable Minister acknowledged the seriousness of the concerns raised and expressed a commitment to finding a just resolution that would address the grievances of the General Population in the region. The meeting concluded on a hopeful note, with assurances of progress towards a balanced reservation policy that reflects the needs of all communities in Jammu and Kashmir.
