Dubi:- In a thrilling first semi-final clash between India and Australia, Team India emerged victorious by 4 wickets, chasing down a target of 265 with 11 balls to spare. The match, held at an electrifying venue, saw standout performances from Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami, propelling India into the Champions Trophy final.

Australia batting first after winning the toss, posting 264 all out in 49.3 overs. Skipper Steven Smith anchored the innings with a gritty 73 off 96 balls, while Alex Carey provided late momentum with a brisk 61 (57). Travis Head (39 off 33) also contributed early before falling to Varun Chakravarthy. However, India’s bowlers struck at regular intervals, with Shami (3/48) leading the attack, supported by Chakravarthy (2/49) and Ravindra Jadeja (2/40). A collapse in the middle overs, triggered by Jadeja’s twin strikes, restricted Australia below the 270-mark.

In reply, India faced early setbacks as Rohit Sharma (28) and Shubman Gill (8) departed cheaply. Virat Kohli then anchored the chase with a composed 84 off 98 balls, stitching crucial partnerships with Shreyas Iyer (45) and KL Rahul.

Despite Adam Zampa (2/60) and Nathan Ellis (2/49) denting India’s middle order, Rahul’s unbeaten 42* off 34 balls and Hardik Pandya’s cameo (28 off 24) sealed the win with ease.

India’s clinical performance underscores their dominance in the tournament, as they now await the winner of the second semi-final to be played between South Africa and New Zealand.
