Newly tourist resort Narnag lacks development, mobile connectivity

Ganderbal,(KNO): Residents of Naranag village in Ganderbal are facing multiple problems ranging from lack of mobile connectivity, bad roads to poor medical health facilities.

As per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Naranag, a tourist village is located about 28 km from Ganderbal town.

Known for its scenic meadows, historical Temple, lakes and mountains, it is a base camp for trekking to the Mount Harmukh and Gangabal Lake.

Residents of Naranag village said that they were facing a lot of hardships in absence of mobile phone connectivity since it was launched in Jammu and Kashmir in 2003.

Students of the area are the worst sufferers due to lack of mobile connectivity and internet facility.

They said that they were unable to take online classes after the closure of schools for a long period due to the outbreak of Covid.

Besides lack of mobile connectivity, the population is suffering badly due to the bad condition of the approach road and poor health care facilities.

They said that a health centre was established in the village but it has a dearth of medical and paramedical staff and shortage of medicines. According to the people they were assured by the district administration that their issues will be resolved but nothing has been done so far—(KNO)
