Israeli forces have killed 52 more Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, increasing the overall death toll to 38,295 since October 7, according to the Health Ministry in the besieged enclave on Wednesday.

The ministry also reported that at least 88,241 people have been injured in the ongoing attacks.

“Israeli forces killed 52 people and injured 208 others in four ‘massacres’ against families in the last 24 hours,” the ministry stated, noting that 27 of these victims were killed in an airstrike on Al-Awda School in Abasan, east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

“Many people remain trapped under rubble and on the roads, as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added.

Despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire, Israel has faced international condemnation for its continued offensive on Gaza since the October 7, 2023 attack by the Palestinian group Hamas.

Nine months into the conflict, large parts of Gaza are in ruins, suffering under a severe blockade of food, clean water, and medicine.

Israel has been accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which recently ordered Tel Aviv to halt its military operation in Rafah, where over a million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war before the city was invaded on May 6.
