Srinagar, July 28: As heat wave across Jammu and Kashmir has intensified, the central Kashmir’s Srinagar on Sunday recorded 36.2 – the fourth highest maximum temperature in the month of July since 1946, officials said.
Meteorological Centre Srinagar while giving J&K maximum temperature statement said Srinagar district has recorded fourth highest maximum temperature since July 1946 today.
It said the all times highest maximum temperature in the month of July is as: 38.3°C 10th July 1946; 2nd highest maximum temperature: 37°C on 9 July 1999; 3rd highest maximum temperature was recorded in 1997 with 36.6°C, while as fourth highest maximum temperature: 36.2°C recorded today on 28 July 2024, the officials of MeT Centre Srinagar informed.
They said the Qaizgund has also seen highest ever maximum temperature 35.6°C today on 28th July 2024, while as previously on July 11, 1988 it was recorded 34.5°C.
