Srinagar: Former chief ministers of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, along with member of parliament Aga Ruhullah Mehdi, have strongly condemned Israel’s actions, urging global intervention to stop the ongoing massacre of innocent civilians in Gaza and Lebanon.
Mehbooba Mufti, president of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party, announced the cancellation of her campaign for the final stage of voting “in solidarity with the martyrs of Lebanon and Gaza, especially Hassan Nasrallah.”
On X, she wrote, “We stand with the people of Palestine & Lebanon in this hour of immense grief & exemplary resistance.”
National Conference MP Aga Ruhullah Mehdi also suspended his campaign, stating, “The Muslim ummah is in grief now, which is why I ended the election campaign.”
Omar Abdullah, vice president of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), condemned Israel’s actions, with JKNC’s official account posting, “Omar Abdullah calls for world support to end the ongoing massacre of innocent people in Gaza and Lebanon.
Earlier, protests were reported in Kashmir seeking end to innocent civilians in Gaza and Lebanon.
