Jammu :A tragic road accident occurred in Reasi district on Saturday, resulting in one fatality and leaving another person seriously injured. The incident took place when an Eeco vehicle (JK20B 2493), which was traveling from Tharal to Shikari, skidded off the road and plunged approximately 200 feet down an embankment in the Mahore area.
According to official sources, the accident occurred around 9:10 AM near Sharki. Noor Jamal, 36, son of Noor Hussain, a resident of Shikari, died instantly at the scene. Abdul Rashid, son of Ghulam Qasim, who was also in the vehicle, sustained severe injuries. Local residents and police officers, who promptly arrived at the site, rushed the injured man to the Community Health Centre (CHC) Mahore for medical treatment.
The police confirmed the death of Noor Jamal and the injuries to Abdul Rashid. A case has been registered, and investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing. The authorities are working to determine the factors that led to the vehicle losing control and veering off the road.
This tragic accident highlights the dangers of road travel in the region, where treacherous terrain and unpredictable weather conditions often contribute to such incidents. Local authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution and follow safety measures while navigating these risky routes.
