KULGAM : Minister for Education, Health, and Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo, today presided over a Public Grievance Redressal Camp in Malwan, Kulgam, where thousands of local residents gathered to voice their concerns. The event saw active participation from concerned district administration and police officials, who joined the minister in addressing the public’s demands. The camp provided a platform for people to raise their issues, with assurances from the minister that immediate action would be taken to resolve them.
Minister Itoo acknowledged the slow pace of work in the region, but emphasized that the system had been severely damaged over the years. “We are working to rebuild it from within,” she said. Reassuring the public, Itoo advised them not to lose hope. “Day by day, the difficulties facing people will come to an end. I am here to fulfill their needs, and we will deliver on the promises made in our election manifesto,” she stated. Itoo reiterated that the restoration of statehood and smooth governance remained a priority for her government.
The minister also highlighted the government’s ongoing recruitment efforts, revealing that 1,000 posts had been sent to the recruitment board, with 300 doctors slated for appointment soon. Despite working under a Union Territory setup, Itoo stressed that significant progress is being made. “We have a lot of work to do, and I urge the public to show patience as we continue to address their needs,” she assured.
Addressing the sensitive issue of Article 370, Itoo criticized those calling for its restoration. “It is these very people who were responsible for removal of special status. Now blaming us for not taking any step on Article-370 restoration.
Devsar MLA Peerzada Feroze also attended the rally, praising Minister Itoo for her dedication and commitment to the people of Kulgam. He extended an invitation to Itoo to visit his constituency, emphasizing her leadership qualities. “She is a dedicated leader, and the party has made an excellent choice in appointing her to this important role,” Feroze remarked, acknowledging her positive impact in the region.
