Kangan: Good Governance Week was successfully conducted in Kangan, Ganderbal District. The event featured the presence of key officials, including the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Kangan, the Tehsildar, and the Block Development Officer (BDO), along with representatives from various departments such as Health, Horticulture, and the Rural Development Department. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness among the public about current government schemes.
During the program, officials highlighted several initiatives, including the e-Sanjeevani scheme, Golden Cards, Tele-Com-Cottaiom, ABHA, Tele-Manas, U-Win, and NCD services. Dr. Shazia expressed gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor for organizing such programs, emphasizing their importance in reaching out to the community.
The Kangan community raised several pressing issues, including electricity shortages, garbage dumping in the main market, and the lack of water supply in certain areas. Newly elected Trade Union President Umer Farooq urged the authorities to address these critical grievances.
Throughout the camp, multiple minor issues raised by locals were resolved on the spot, with the SDM issuing necessary directions to address other pending matters promptly. Officials also provided detailed information on how to access online services and their respective procedures. Certificates were distributed to beneficiaries who had successfully utilized these services.
This program aimed to strengthen the connection between the administration and the public, ensuring easy access to essential services and efficiently addressing citizens’ concerns.
