“Residents of Mamer and Cherwan Urge J&K Bank for Much-Needed ATM Facility”

Residents of Mamer and Cherwan in the Kangan sub-division of Ganderbal are calling on Jammu and Kashmir Bank to address their urgent need for an ATM facility in their communities.

Locals have expressed their frustration over having to travel between 5 to 10 kilometers to access ATM services, highlighting the significant inconvenience this poses.

Currently, there are no ATMs located between Cherwan and Mamer, which affects residents from surrounding areas such as Thune, Yachama, and Bonibagh. With a sizable population relying on these services, the community is advocating for the establishment of an ATM to meet their banking needs.

The lack of an ATM forces residents to journey to Ganiwan or Kangan, which adds unnecessary strain on their time and resources.
The nearest branches of Jammu and Kashmir Bank are situated in Ganiwan and Kangan, both at distances ranging from 5 to 10 kilometers, making access to banking services increasingly difficult.

A senior citizen from Cherwan highlighted the critical need for at least one ATM in the area, asserting that its availability would greatly enhance the quality of life for residents in Mamer, Cherwan, and nearby communities.

The residents are now appealing directly to the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Bank, urging him to take their legitimate request into serious consideration. They hope for swift action leading to the installation of ATM facilities in their underserved neighborhoods.
