Ganderbal: Authorities in the Kangan Subdivision of Ganderbal district have successfully cleared 90% of road from snow, ensuring improved accessibility for residents. Snow clearance operations are still underway to address the remaining stretches, particularly in higher-altitude areas.
He mentioned, “The jurisdiction of R&B Division extends from Wussan to Sonamarg, covering 136 link roads with a total length of 135.97 kilometers.” While talking to Valley Online News, he added, “Wherever machinery was required, we deployed the necessary equipment. In areas where manual efforts were needed, we carried out the clearance manually.”
The Executive Engineer further informed Valley Online News that all Sonamarg link roads have been cleared, except for the Nilgrat link road, which is still under clearance.
He assured that the division has been working around the clock to ensure minimal disruption to commuters and to restore road access as quickly as possible. “Our teams have been working tirelessly, and we’re committed to ensuring that all roads are cleared and safe for travel,” he told Valley Online News.
Efforts are ongoing to clear the remaining areas, and the division assures residents that all possible measures are being taken to maintain smooth traffic flow. Regular updates will continue to be shared with the public.
