Srinagar, Jan 14: Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), G.N. Itoo, stated on Tuesday that all textbooks for the new academic session would be made available by January 31. He assured parents that any complaints regarding the unavailability of textbooks would be resolved within 24 hours.

Speaking to the media, Itoo emphasized that the department is actively working with the Board of School Education (BOSE) to expedite the process. “We are committed to ensuring that textbooks reach students before schools reopen. BOSE has been directed to complete the process without delay,” he said.

He acknowledged the concerns raised due to delays caused by the recent transition back to the November session. “The November session was restored in a very short timeframe. Following this, the Education Minister and Principal Secretary convened a high-level meeting, instructing the Board to ensure all textbooks are distributed by January 31,” Itoo added.

Meanwhile, Sakeena Itoo, speaking over the phone with Mir Kaiser, also apologized for the delay. “We are making every effort to provide textbooks before schools reopen. I regret the inconvenience caused due to the session change,” she said.

The DSEK has warned of strict action against any officials found delaying the process, reiterating their commitment to resolve any issues promptly.
