Srinagar : In a significant administrative move, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the transfer and posting of 13 Assistant Regional Transport Officers (ARTOs) and In-Charge ARTOs within the Transport Department. The reshuffle, aimed at improving operational efficiency, takes effect immediately.
According to Government Order No. 05-JK(TR) of 2025, the changes are intended to streamline the department’s functions and enhance the delivery of public services.
Among the notable transfers, Sheetal Kumar Sharma, the current ARTO of Ramban, has been reassigned to the post of ARTO Doda. Similarly, Abrar Ahmed Kripak, who was serving as ARTO in Kulgam, will now take on the additional responsibility of ARTO for Shopian. Bashrat Mahmood, the ARTO of Pulwama, has been transferred to ARTO Poonch.
Other key appointments include Pawan Kumar Sharma, who has been appointed as In-Charge ARTO Flying Squad-II (Enforcement Wing) on the National Highway. Meanwhile, Bipin Singh Charak will oversee the Flying Squad-I (Enforcement Wing) in Jammu.
The reshuffle is part of the government’s broader strategy to improve governance and ensure better functioning of the Transport Department. The officers are expected to assume their new roles without delay, as the administration focuses on delivering more efficient services to the public.
