GANDERBAL, JANUARY 21: In a significant step towards the successful execution of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2025, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shyambir, convened a high-level meeting at the Mini Secretariat’s Conference Hall. The agenda focused on developing a comprehensive work plan aimed at enhancing the Yatra experience for pilgrims.
The meeting kicked off with a detailed analysis of last year’s Yatra action plan, highlighting areas for improvement in service quality and infrastructure. Key discussion points included the enhancement of health services, sanitation measures, flood protection strategies, solar lighting installations, parking solutions, mobile connectivity enhancements, transport logistics, contingency planning, and overall infrastructure upgrades.
Department heads shared their progress reports concerning SANJY-2025 preparations. The DDC emphasized the urgency of submitting finalized work plans by January 24, 2025, to facilitate timely progress on essential developmental projects.
Among the directives issued, the Animal Husbandry Department was assigned the responsibility of pinpointing locations along the Yatra route for hot water provisions for ponies, while the Jal Shakti Department was tasked with ensuring access to hot water at these designated spots.
The Rural Development Department was urged to prioritize the upkeep of toilet facilities, and BEACON was instructed to address any utility repairs that may arise during the Yatra.
In addition, the ARTO Ganderbal proposed the creation of a dedicated SRTC ticket counter and the consolidation of parking areas to improve transportation efficiency.
A critical focus was placed on mobile connectivity, with the DDC instructing telecom providers to present a comprehensive plan aimed at bolstering connectivity at the Base Camp Baltal and along the Yatra route starting from Domail.
Officers contributed insights and lessons learned from the previous Yatra, offering valuable recommendations for refining services for pilgrims.
The DDC assured that any issues raised during the meeting would be addressed promptly and instructed relevant departments to take immediate action.
In conclusion, the DDC called on all departments involved with the Yatra via the Baltal route to revise their action plans, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing infrastructure and service enhancements.
The gathering saw participation from SSP Ganderbal, Ragav S; Additional Deputy Commissioner Gulzar Ahmad; SDM Kangan; CEO SDA; Executive Engineers from various departments; DFO Sindh Forest Division; and representatives from other relevant departments.
