Republic day was celebrated today throughout district Ganderbal with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. The main function was held at Madr-e-Meharban Qamariya Stadium Ganderbal where DDC Chairperson Mst. Nuzhat Ishfaq unfurled the National Flag alongside Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Shri. Shyambir IAS and SSP Ganderbal Shri Ragav S, IPS.
The Chief Guest inspected the parade wherein contingents of District Police Ganderbal, JK Armed Police, PTS Manigam, CRPF, SSB, Forest Protection Force, Home Guard and SPOs were present and was led by Parade Commander Sub-Inspector (SI) Jameel. Moreover, 21 contingents of school children also participated with great enthusiasm and fervor.
The event also featured colorful cultural programs presented by students and youth clubs from different institutions of District Ganderbal which was witnessed by a large number of people.
At the conclusion of the event, prize distribution and felicitation ceremony was held. Prizes, appreciation certificates from district administration were also presented to the students and other participants for their best performances.
