A candlelight march was held on Tuesday evening in the Gund area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district to condemn the recent terrorist attack in Behbihagh, Kulgam, where an ex-army man was killed, and his wife and niece were injured.
The silent protest march, which began after Maghrib prayers, saw a large turnout of people, primarily youth. Protesters expressed their grief and outrage over the brutal killing, holding placards with messages such as “Stop Innocent Killings” and “Stop Violence in Kashmir.”
The marchers made it clear that the people of Kashmir refuse to be intimidated by those who aim to instill fear and disrupt their lives. “This march sends a clear message that we will not be cowed by the atrocities of terrorists,” said one protester.
“By killing innocent civilians, terrorists have committed an act that is equivalent to killing all of humanity,” he added.
The protesters called for stronger action against those responsible for the violence, urging security forces to intensify efforts to eliminate the threat of terrorism.
