Ganderbal: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah officially opened the highly anticipated Akhal-Kangan bridge today, enhancing connectivity for numerous villages within the sub-division.
The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of MLA Kangan Mian Mehar Ali along with several officials.
Spanning 84 meters across the Sindh River, the Akhal bridge addresses a long-standing need in the region, alleviating the significant challenges residents faced due to the absence of a reliable crossing.
Originally sanctioned in 2008, the bridge’s construction was undertaken by the Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) at an estimated cost of Rs 8.96 crore.
