The recent terror attack in Pahalgam has left a deep scar on the soul of Kashmir. It was a cowardly act—one that we strongly condemn, and which has shaken not just our serene valley, but the very spirit of peace and humanity. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families. Their pain is our pain.
But today, we also write with heavy hearts for another reason.
In the aftermath of the attack, fear and uncertainty have cast a shadow over the tourism industry—the lifeline of countless Kashmiri families. Pahalgam, known for its pristine beauty and warm-hearted people, now wears a somber look. Hotels are quiet. Cab drivers wait by the roadside with no guests to take in. Pony riders, shopkeepers, and artisans—all are left struggling in the silence that has replaced the usual laughter of tourists.
We want to say this loud and clear: Kashmiris have nothing to do with this act of terror. The people of the valley—your fellow Indians—stand for peace, love, and unity. We are your brothers and sisters. We suffer together as a nation, and we heal together.
To our fellow countrymen: we appeal to you not to turn away from Kashmir in fear or anger. Instead, we urge you to visit us. Come to Pahalgam. Come to the valley. Let us show you the hospitality that Kashmiris are known for. Let the breathtaking beauty of our land, and the warmth of our people, remind you that this is a place of love—not hate.
Terrorists want to divide us. Let’s not give them that victory. Your presence in Kashmir is not just a boost to our economy—it is a symbol of unity, of resilience, and of love overcoming fear.
From the valleys of Pahalgam to every heart across India—we are waiting to welcome you, with open arms and tear-filled eyes.
Come, and let Kashmir embrace you.
