Why Would He?”, Agha Ruhullah’s Office on MP’s Purported Exit Plan from JKNC

Srinagar: Agha Syed Ruhullah Mehdi’s office has termed the grapevine about senior politician’s plans to exit from National Conference as mere rumours, lacking any truth and authenticity.

The grapevine has gained traction particularly in the backdrop of Agha Ruhullah’s reported confrontation with party Vice President Omar Abdullah, and subsequent walk out from the party’s working committee meeting.

However the Member Parliament’s office has vehemently negated any plan on behalf of the senior politician to exit from National Conference. “There is no such thing on behalf of Agha Sahab,” the MP’s office told Alfaaz – The Words, adding “All this is being peddled by the media, which nonetheless lacks any truth and authenticity.”

“Why would he leave the party?”… He is with the party and will continue to remain there only.”

When asked about the recent confrontation of Agha Ruhullah with party Vice President Omar Abdullah during the party’s working committee meet, the office dodged the query while reiterating that the senior politician has no plans to exit the party (National Conference).

Even as the official negated the rumours, the Member Parliament took a veiled dig apparently on party Vice President Omar Abdullah, posting a Kashmiri couplet, which roughly translates to; “If you truly are that eloquent one, then show something of worth for your people; Don’t get lost in vain poetic display, if you truly have knowledge, then show it in action.”
Notably, the senior politician and Member Parliament on Srinagar seat, Agha Ruhullah Mehdi has been in the centre of attention for his bold stance to seek implementation of ruling party’s (assembly election) manifesto, which among other pressing issues had pledged to fight for an early restoration of special status of Jammu and Kashmir. The emboldened stance has more than once brought the senior politician in direct confrontation with his party leadership.
