Ganderbal: In a major boost to healthcare services in the district, a National Mobile Medical Unit – also known as Hospital on Wheels has officially reached Ganderbal. The facility is one of only six units allotted across Jammu and Kashmir, and it brings essential medical services, including diagnostic labs and ultrasound facilities, directly to the doorsteps of the people.

Raja Parvaiz, a local social worker, while speaking to The Newscast, expressed heartfelt gratitude to MLA Kangan, Mian Mehar Ali, for his swift intervention. “Five days ago, I raised the need for this mobile unit with the MLA, and he assured me that Ganderbal would get it. Within a week, it’s here. This is a great achievement for our district and a service to the needy, MLA’s constant availability reflects his genuine commitment to public service,” he added.

The arrival of this mobile medical unit is being widely appreciated by the general public. Residents believe it will be particularly beneficial for far-flung areas and vulnerable sections of the population with limited access to hospitals.

“We thank all citizens, public representatives, and especially MLA Mehar Ali for their dedication to improving the health infrastructure in Ganderbal,” Parvaiz added.

The Hospital on Wheels is equipped with various medical specialists and lab facilities, aiming to deliver doorstep healthcare in underserved areas.
