In a remarkable act of philanthropy, two brothers from Khrew, Shar Shali area of Pampore, Saif-ud-Din Hakak and Ghulam Rasool Hakak, donated 32 kanal land worth crores to Jamiat Ahlihadith Jammu and Kashmir. The announcement was made during a large Islamic conference in Srinagar on Sunday, which drew thousands of participants including scholars, community leaders and members from across the Valley.

Participants described the donation as a noble gesture that will strengthen educational and religious institutions in Jammu and Kashmir. They noted that such contributions leave behind a lasting legacy, benefitting not only the present generation but also future ones.

Speakers at the conference stressed that the Hakak brothers’ decision was rooted in the timeless Islamic principles of sacrifice, charity and service to society. They recalled how historically, charitable endowments or waqf laid the foundation of schools, mosques, welfare centres and public services in the Islamic world. Kashmir too has witnessed families donating property and land in the past to set up schools and orphanages, providing education and shelter to thousands of children.

The event concluded with special prayers for the prosperity of the Hakak family and the success of Jamiat Ahlihadith’s mission in Jammu and Kashmir. [KNT]
