Family of Rizwan Irshad Appeals for Privacy After Tragic Kulgam Accident
Kulgam: A wave of grief has engulfed D.K. Marg in Kulgam after the tragic death of 22-year-old Rizwan Irshad, who lost his life in a freak accident at the local volleyball ground on Friday, August 29.
According to locals, Rizwan was playing a match when a high-tension electricity line suddenly snapped and struck him, leaving him critically injured. Despite immediate efforts to save him, he succumbed on the spot. The shocking incident has left the community in mourning, with hundreds pouring in to console the bereaved family.
In the aftermath, Rizwan’s family has made a heartfelt appeal to the public and media, requesting that no videos or images of the accident be circulated. “We are devastated by this loss. Sharing such painful visuals only adds to our grief. We urge everyone to delete or refrain from uploading them,” the family said in a statement.
The family also warned that if such content continues to be circulated, they may be compelled to pursue legal action. Meanwhile, residents have demanded authorities to ensure safety checks of overhead power lines, particularly around sports grounds, to prevent such tragedies in the future.
