Ganderbal Police Defeat Media XI in Friendly Cricket Match at Kangan

Ganderbal: A friendly cricket match was played at Sheikh-ul-Aalam Ground, Kangan, between Ganderbal Police XI, led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal, and Media XI, represented by the Ganderbal Press Association under the captaincy of Ayaz Sofi.

Winning the toss, Ganderbal Police opted to bowl first. Media XI suffered early setbacks but a crucial 57-run stand in 40 balls between Hadi Hidayat and Arif Kasana helped the team reach a competitive total of 146/9 in 20 overs.

In reply, Ganderbal Police put up a determined chase and successfully reached the target, scoring 148 runs in 17.5 overs, clinching the match by two wickets.

Umar Hilal was declared Man of the Match for his all-round performance, taking two key wickets and contributing nine runs with the bat.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal highlighted the importance of sports in fostering camaraderie and healthy relations between police and media. He assured that such matches would continue to be organized in the future.

He also congratulated the police team on their spirited victory.
