Srinagar : Taking serious note of media reports and allegations regarding irregularities in the execution of Public Works Department (PWD) projects in Nowshera Division, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary has ordered the constitution of a three-member high-level committee to conduct an in-depth inquiry into the matter.

The committee comprising the Engineer-in-Chief, Director Finance, and Director Planning (PW[R&B]) has been tasked to submit a comprehensive report within one week, identifying any lapses or irregularities and fixing responsibility as per rules.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability, the Deputy Chief Minister said that integrity remains the foundation of the present administration’s governance model.

He has also directed that circular instructions be issued to all Chief Engineers, Superintending Engineers, and Executive Engineers of the department to ensure that tendering processes are conducted in a fair, transparent, and rule-bound manner.

Choudhary cautioned that strict disciplinary action will be taken against any officer or official found violating established norms or procedures.
