Winter Vacations for Nursery to Middle Classes From First Week of Dec: Minister

Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Wednesday indicated that winter vacations for students from Nursery to Middle level in Kashmir are expected to start in the first week of December as temperatures continue to dip across the Valley.

Speaking to reporters, the minister said the department has already assessed the situation. “We have reviewed the weather conditions, and winter break for Nursery to Middle classes will begin in the first week of December,” she said.

She added that concerns flagged by parents and schools—particularly regarding textbooks and academic requirements—have been taken into account. “A meeting was held in this regard, and necessary directions have been issued,” the minister stated.

Itoo said the department is keeping a close watch on the academic schedule as the cold wave intensifies.
