DC Kulgam Reviews Verification, Freezing of Jamabandis at Qaimoh

KULGAM : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan (IAS), on Monday visited the Tehsil Office Qaimoh to review its functioning and take a first-hand appraisal of the ongoing process of verification and freezing of Jamabandis.

During the visit, the DC inspected various sections of the tehsil office and reviewed the status of Jamabandi records, including their verification, updation, and finalization prior to freezing. He interacted with revenue officials to assess both the progress and quality of the exercise.

Emphasizing the importance of the process, the Deputy Commissioner said that freezing of Jamabandis is a crucial step towards ensuring accuracy, transparency, and reliability of land records. He stressed that all entries must be thoroughly verified and made error-free before freezing to avoid future disputes and public grievances.

The DC directed the concerned officers to strictly adhere to prescribed procedures, ensure timely completion of the process, and maintain effective coordination among the revenue staff.

Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Riyaz Ahmad Shah, Tehsildar Qaimoh Nisar Ahmad Wani, and other concerned revenue officials accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the visit.
