Maintain strict vigilance, strengthen security: DIG to police officers

Kulgam:Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), South Kashmir Range, Shri Javid Iqbal Matoo, IPS, on Monday chaired a comprehensive crime and security review meeting at the District Police Office (DPO) Kulgam to assess the law and order situation and strengthen security preparedness across the district.

The meeting was attended by SSP Kulgam Anayat Ali Choudhary (IPS), ASP Kulgam Aftab Awan, ASP NHW (Qazigund) Mumtaz Ali Bhatti, SDPOs, DySPs and SHOs, who briefed the DIG on their respective jurisdictions and security measures in place.

The DIG reviewed the prevailing security scenario with focus on anti-militancy operations, crime prevention and maintenance of public order. He directed officers to maintain high alertness, intensify patrolling, area domination, naka checking and surveillance, especially in vulnerable areas.

Emphasising intelligence-based and proactive policing, the DIG stressed strong police-public relations, effective grievance redressal and a zero-tolerance approach towards crime to ensure peace and security in the district.
