Minor Kidnapped in Ganderbal Rescued Within an Hour; One Accused Held

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal on Sunday swiftly rescued a kidnapped minor boy within an hour of the incident and arrested one person in connection with the crime. 

According to officials, a complaint was received at Police Station Lar stating that the minor had been abducted by unknown persons near his residence in Chanthan Gulabpora, Lar, around 6:30 pm.

Following the complaint, police registered FIR No. 03/2026 under relevant sections of law and immediately launched an investigation. On the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Khalil Ahmad Poswal, a special investigation team was constituted to trace the victim and the perpetrators.

Through coordinated efforts, including technical surveillance and ground-level operations, the police team successfully located and rescued the boy safely within an hour of the abduction.

During the operation, one accused, identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Teeli, son of Abdul Jabbar Teli, a resident of Kurhama, was arrested. The vehicle allegedly used in the kidnapping was also seized near Barsoo Chowk.

Officials added that further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend other persons involved in the crime.
