Residential House Gutted in Fire at Devsar, Qazigund

Kulgam: A devastating fire incident broke out at a residential house in Devsar, Qazigund area of district Kulgam, reducing the property to ashes late last night.

The house, owned by Gul Mohammad Bhat, son of Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, was completely gutted in the blaze. According to the family members and locals, all household belongings and lifelong savings were destroyed.

Eyewitnesses said that local residents, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF personnel immediately rushed to the spot and made strenuous efforts to control and extinguish the flames. However, the Fire and Emergency Services reached the scene after nearly one and a half hours, as alleged by the family and locals, by which time the house had suffered extensive damage.

Fortunately, there was no loss of life reported in the incident. The cause of the fire is being ascertained.

The affected family has appealed for immediate assistance to rebuild their shelter and recover from the loss.
