Kulgam Court Issues Proclamation Against Wanted Militant

Kulgam :The Court of Special Judge (Designated Court under the NIA Act), Kulgam, has issued a proclamation under Section 84 of the BNSS against Zakir Ahmad Ganie, a wanted militant involved in multiple militancy-related activities in the district. Ganie, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Ganie and resident of Mutalhama, Kulgam, is wanted in Case FIR No. 200/2023 registered at Police Station Kulgam under Sections 13, 16, 18B, 20, and 38 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
The court has given the accused 30 days to surrender before the competent authority, warning that failure to do so will lead to further legal proceedings. Prior to this proclamation, the court had already issued an open-ended Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) against Ganie. Following the court’s directives, a police team led by DySP Headquarters Kulgam pasted the proclamation order at his residence and other public locations in the village to ensure wide publicity and compliance.
Law enforcement officials said the action is part of ongoing efforts to bring absconding militants to justice and dismantle the militant network in the district. SSP Kulgam, Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS, said, “The law will take its due course against those involved in militancy. We remain committed to ensuring peace, stability, and the safety of our citizens. Such actions reflect our resolve to bring every offender before justice and to uproot the menace of militancy from the district.”
