The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday organised a political and awareness programme at the Dak Bungalow in Anantnag, which was attended by party leaders, workers and local residents.

Addressing the gathering, senior BJP leader Mohammad Rafiq Wani emphasised the need for transparency, accountability and lawful conduct in society, stating that administrative initiatives should not be politicised and must be viewed in the larger public interest. He said the BJP believes in inclusive development while maintaining peace and order, and every step taken by the government is aimed at strengthening governance and social harmony.

Wani launched a sharp attack on the National Conference (NC), accusing the party of misleading the people of Jammu and Kashmir through unfulfilled promises made over decades. He said that despite long periods in power, the NC failed to address key issues related to employment, infrastructure, development and basic amenities, relying more on rhetoric than delivery.

Highlighting the BJP-led government’s roadmap, Mohammad Rafiq Wani elaborated on the vision of Viksit Bharat, stating that the party is committed to transforming India into a fully developed nation by 2047. He said employment generation and livelihood security remain at the core of this vision.

He stressed the importance of GRAMG (Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin)), describing it as India’s new rural employment law aimed at strengthening rural livelihoods. The mission guarantees 125 days of employment, integrates planning through digital infrastructure under PM Gati Shakti, and focuses on durable asset creation such as water resources, rural roads and infrastructure. He added that the scheme also introduces a 60-day agricultural pause, aligning rural employment with agricultural cycles and long-term development goals under the Viksit Bharat 2047 framework.

Wani said the BJP believes in reforming and strengthening welfare schemes to ensure better implementation, transparency and maximum benefits for the poor, rural communities and unemployed youth. He reiterated that the party’s development model is centred on good governance, accountability and inclusive growth, ensuring benefits reach the last person in the queue.

The programme concluded with an interaction session, during which party leaders appealed to the public to actively participate in nation-building and support the BJP’s mission of a strong, self-reliant and developed India by 2047.
