AAP Leader Shot Dead in Jalandhar

SRINAGAR: AAP leader Lucky Oberoi was shot dead in broad daylight on Friday after unidentified assailants opened fire at him outside a Gurdwara in Jalandhar’s Model Town area, according to multiple media reports.
According to an NDTV report, the attackers arrived on a two-wheeler and fired multiple shots at Oberoi while he was parking his car outside the Gurdwara. Five bullets hit him, causing critical injuries.
Oberoi was rushed to a private hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, officials said.
Police teams reached the scene soon after the incident and launched an investigation.
No arrests have been made so far, and the assailants remain unidentified. Police said efforts are under way to trace the attackers and ascertain the motive behind the killing.
Oberoi’s wife had earlier contested municipal elections on an Aam Aadmi Party ticket, though she was unsuccessful.
