In the Annual Reshuffle, Haamid Bukhari is posted as new ROC J&K and has become the youngest Officer to become the UT head

Syed Haamid Bukhari, a notable Officer of Indian Corporate Law Service Cadre, recruited through UPSC All India Civil Services Examination 2016, has been posted as Registrar of Companies (ROC) for the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

A native of J&K, he is a management graduate from IUST Awantipora, holds a PG degree in Business and Allied Laws from NLSIU Bangalore, and pursued a Master’s in Politics and International Relations at JNU, New Delhi.

With over eight years in Government of India, he has served in Srinagar and New Delhi, including as Deputy ROC Srinagar, where he is credited for making effectively operational the Ministry of Corporate Affairs’ field office in Kashmir in 2019 post-Article 370 abrogation. He also served as Deputy Official Liquidator attached to the High Court of J&K and Ladakh.

Currently in the Northern Directorate of the ministry, he primarily oversees corporate fraud investigations, inspections, DIN scrutiny, and few security related clearances besides handling the significant corporate governance policy matters as well as leading the enforcement actions.

He was Nodal Officer (North India) for the implementation of Prime Ministers’ Internship Scheme and has also reportedly hosted the special guests of the Government as Nodal Officer during Independence Day 2025 and Republic Day 2026.
