Anantnag : As part of security and preparedness measures for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026, Anantnag Police on Sunday conducted a comprehensive mock drill at the Jablipora Landing Strip in Bijbehara to assess and strengthen emergency response capabilities.
The exercise aimed to test operational readiness, response mechanisms, and coordination among police personnel in handling various contingency situations during the annual pilgrimage. Several emergency scenarios were simulated during the drill and were effectively managed by the participating teams.
Senior police officers supervised the exercise and reviewed the preparedness of personnel, emphasizing the importance of regular drills to ensure efficient responses during emergencies and the smooth conduct of the Yatra.
The mock drill forms part of the broader security arrangements being put in place ahead of SANJY-2026, which attracts thousands of pilgrims from across the country each year.
Anantnag Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining robust security measures and ensuring the safety, security, and convenience of all pilgrims undertaking the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
