Srinagar: Social activist and youth leader Adv. Jehanzeb Allaqaband today called on Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Member of Parliament, former Union Minister, and Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs, during his visit to Srinagar.
During the meeting, Adv. Allaqaband briefed Dr. Tharoor about The Kashmir Conclave, a forthcoming initiative aimed at creating a platform for meaningful dialogue among policymakers, diplomats, academicians, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, youth representatives, and other distinguished personalities from across the country. The conclave is intended to promote discussions on youth empowerment, innovation, economic development, tourism, investment, public policy, and the future aspirations of Jammu & Kashmir.
The two also discussed the ongoing anti-drug campaign led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Adv. Allaqaband appreciated the administration’s efforts in addressing substance abuse through awareness programmes, youth engagement, rehabilitation initiatives, and community participation. He emphasized the importance of sustained public involvement in tackling the drug menace and safeguarding the future of the region’s youth.
Dr. Tharoor appreciated initiatives that encourage constructive dialogue, youth participation, and inclusive development. Both leaders underlined the need for collaborative efforts to empower young people and promote progressive initiatives for the growth and prosperity of Jammu & Kashmir.
Adv. Allaqaband thanked Dr. Tharoor for his valuable time, guidance, and encouragement towards the vision of The Kashmir Conclave. He also expressed gratitude to Mrs. Shobha Tharoor Srinivasan for her support in facilitating the meeting.
