Indiscriminate firing at Aligarh Muslim University; Three injured in gunshots, incidents at VM Hall and SS North

Aligarh : All limits of anarchy were crossed in Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on Monday night. Bike riders kept running here and there in the campus with guns in their hands. First they spread panic by firing indiscriminately in the VM Hall.

The students hid in their rooms. After this, armed people reached SS North Hall of the university. There was rapid firing here also. Three people were injured by the bullet. The police kept scrambling to find the attackers.

A student’s birthday party was going on in VM Hall on Monday night. According to the police, there was a dispute between two groups of students. The matter escalated so much that one group opened fire. After this the accused went to SS North Hall.

There both sides talked on phone. It has also been decided that the dispute that has arisen will be resolved by holding a meeting. After this, a group from VM Hall went to SS North. There again a dispute broke out between the two parties. One side started firing rapidly.

Inspector Vijay Singh said that Dr. Sadiq Ali of Moradabad was injured. Dr. Sadiq is studying BMC from ACN College. He had come to AMU for some work.

Firoz Alam, a resident of Dhaira, and Abdullah, a resident of Old Chungi, were injured by shrapnel. Everyone has been admitted to JN Medical College. The reasons for the firing are being investigated. CCTV camera footage is also being scrutinised. ( Reports Jaghran)
