Says Institutions are meant to shape students’ career.
New Delhi: Congress Working Committee (CWC) Member Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Friday asserted that Institutions are meant to shape student’s career irrespective of their colour, region or religion while expressing grave concern over the assault on students in Desh Bhagat University in Punjab over some admission transfer issue of Kashmiri nursing students.
CWC Member said that universities should not be used to intimidate students on colour, region or religion basis, these are meant to build students’ careers and impart quality education. Mir strongly condemned the assault and arrest of students and urged the Punjab Govt to take strict action against the Management of Desh Baghat University for intimidating students.
The university’s move to transfer admission of students to a college that does not have authorization from the Indian Nursing Council and Punjab Nursing Registration Council as reported sans logic, if it was the case, then the college authorities are deliberately ruining the academic career of students even after spending hard earned money of their parents for completing their studies outside J&K, CWC Member said.
I would urge upon Punjab Govt to investigate the matter and not allow Desh Bhagat University and other institutions to ruin career of our Students and ensure that University runs according to the set guidelines and not as per the wish of Management, CWC Member added emphasizing that the safety of J&K students studying in other States be ensured.
