NC—Congress combine wins 5 seats, BJP 1
Srinagar : National Conference—Congress alliance is heading for a victory in the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council- Kargil election.
As per the latest update that we are getting, Abdul Wahid of the National Conference (NC) has won the Bhimbat constituency by defeating Congress, and BJP. Punchok Tashi, another NC leader, has won from Buddhist majority seat Padum. While Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has won Stakchay Khangral constituency.
Congress has recorded its wins in Pashkum seat, defeating Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
The hill council election in Kargil was the first local poll in Ladakh since it split from Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019 to become a union territory after Article 370 was abrogated. The new council is scheduled to be in place before October 11.
Congress has won three seats, National Conference two and BJP one. The counting has been completed for six seats so far
