Kulgam, July 07 (KS): Two terrorists including a top HM commander were killed in an encounter in Madergam area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday.
A top police officer confirmed Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Scroll that on Saturday afternoon afternoon following inputs about the presence of terrorists, a joint team of forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Madergam.
As the joint team of forces zeroed in on the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired on the team, which was retaliated, triggering a gunfight.
During the gunfight, two terrorists were killed who both are residents of Shopian district,he said.
He said that one among the slain was HM commander Aadil Hussian Wani resident of Kutipora Shopian while other one was identified Faisal Bashir Lone of Kanipora Shopian.
He said that search operation in the area is still going on.(KS)
