Ganderbal: A community is in mourning after the body of a 17-year-old boy, who drowned in the power canal at Haknar Fraw in Ganderbal, was recovered on Friday evening. The tragic incident has left a deep impact on the residents of the area.
The young boy has been identified as Junaid Ahmad Khan, the son of Abdul Wahid, from Gund Kangan. His untimely death has brought immense grief to his family and loved ones.
Following the incident, dedicated teams from the J&K Police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) immediately launched a search and rescue operation. Local volunteers also played a significant role in assisting the teams. After several hours of relentless efforts, Junaid’s body was found.
An official informed The KashPost that the body would be handed over to the family after completing the required medico-legal formalities.
The heartbreaking loss of a young life has left the community grappling with sorrow and disbelief, as friends and neighbors extend their condolences to the grieving family.
