Anantnag: Kulgam MLA and senior CPIM leader M Y Tarigami visited GMC Anantnag hospital to meet the injured tourists who were attacked in Pahalgam recently. The tragic incident led to the death of 26 tourists and left over 18 injured. The tourists had come to enjoy the beauty of Kashmir but became victims of a brutal terrorist attack.
Speaking to the media, Tarigami strongly condemned the attack and called it an “inhumane act.” He said that the terrorists targeted innocent, unarmed tourists, which is a clear attack on humanity. “Terrorism has no religion,” he stated, adding that even local Kashmiri Muslims have been killed by terrorists in the past.
Tarigami emphasized that such incidents hurt the image of Kashmir and damage its economy, which largely depends on tourism. “The tourists came here to enjoy. They were a big source of income for the region. This kind of violence is unacceptable and must be stopped,” he said.
He also spoke about the safety of Kashmiri students studying outside Jammu and Kashmir. Tarigami said their protection is important and any harassment against them is also a form of terrorism.
He urged the authorities to take strict action against those responsible for the attack and ensure such events do not happen again. “This inhumane act must be punished” .
