Anantnag: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said that the recent Ramban incident was unacceptable and asserted that his government would not allow anyone to create “jungle raj” in the Union Territory.

Speaking to reporters in Bijbehara after inaugurating a Fruit and Vegetable Processing Centre, the Chief Minister said maintaining peace and stability remains the government’s top priority. He stated that the administration is working towards beginning a new phase of development in Jammu and Kashmir where peace and progress go hand in hand.

“We are making a fresh start in J&K so that the atmosphere remains peaceful and conditions stable. However, some elements are trying to disrupt this environment and create jungle raj, which will not be tolerated,” Omar Abdullah said.

The Chief Minister reiterated that no individual or group would be permitted to disturb law and order in the region. He emphasized that the government remains committed to ensuring safety, stability and development for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

His remarks come amid growing concern over the Ramban incident, with the government assuring strict action against any attempt to disturb public peace.
