Continuing its crackdown against drug-related activities, Ganderbal Police detected and destroyed an illicit Poppy Cultivation during routine patrolling in village Thune, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kangan.
As per news ,During the operation, a patch of land measuring approximately one and a half marlas was found cultivated with poppy straw-like plants. Preliminary enquiry revealed that the land was in possession of one Ghulam Mohammad Najar, Son of Mohammad Ramzan Najar, resident of Thune, who had allegedly cultivated the Contraband Crop.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 32/2026 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kangan, and further investigation is underway.
Ganderbal Police reiterates its commitment to eradicating the menace of drugs and urges the public to cooperate by sharing any information related to illegal activities.
