Shopian: Authorities on Monday sealed the premises of Darul Uloom Jamia Siraj-ul-Uloom in Imam Sahib area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district after it was declared an unlawful association under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir.
Following the order, the District Magistrate Shopian issued a prohibitory directive under Section 8(4) of the Act, restricting entry into the institution. As per the order, no individual, except residents of the seminary, is allowed to enter or remain within the premises without prior permission.
Officials warned that any violation of the order will invite strict legal action, including removal from the site and penalties under relevant laws. Limited exceptions have been made for close relatives, subject to compliance with conditions and conduct regulations set by the district administration.
