Kulgam : Kulgam Police on Friday distributed essential items among deserving families, including widows, specially-abled persons and needy students, under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2025-26.
Beneficiaries from various police stations across the district were provided with sewing machines, wheelchairs, hearing aids, and school bags equipped with books and stationery.
The initiative aimed at extending support to underprivileged sections of society while strengthening police-public relations.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Kulgam Anayat Ali Chowdhary said the programme reflects the police’s commitment to public welfare alongside law enforcement. He emphasized that such initiatives help build trust and promote a sense of inclusion and compassion in policing.
Senior officers, including DySP DAR DPL Kulgam Mohd Ayub Rather, were also present.
Kulgam Police reiterated its commitment to continue such outreach programmes to foster stronger community ties and public cooperation.
